Älvkarleby

Älvkarleby is a town and municipality at the northern edge of Uppsala County, where Dalälven reaches the Baltic Sea, between Tierp and Gävle.

Stockholm Arlanda Airport is Sweden's largest airport, with rail transfer to Älvkarleby.

The local train Upptåget between Uppsala and Gävle stops hourly at Älvkarleby. The station is 2 kilometres from the town centre.

  • 🌍 Dragon Gate. A faux-Chinese hotel and rest stop, with a reputation for being one of the most bizarre construction projects in Sweden. After 15 years of construction, it's partly open.
