Beaver (Oklahoma)
Beaver is in the Red Carpet Country region of Oklahoma. Once capital of the short-lived Cimarron Territory in the late 19th century, which the federal government never recognized, Beaver still retains significance as a center of commerce for all of the agriculture in this area. Additionally, it is famed for its annual World Cow Chip Throwing Championship.

- 🌍 Beaver Dunes Park, US-270. Daily 8AM-10PM. Dunes and a lake comprise this area set aside for recreation, formerly a state park until it was relinquished to the city of Beaver due to budget cuts. Coronado is said to have remarked that some of his men disappeared in the sand here. Camping and ATVing and water recreation are available.
