Bentley

Bentley is a small town of 1,100 (2016) located in the Central Corridor region of Alberta, Canada. It is located the main near Gull Lake, a popular recreational lake with its southern shores boasting large sandy beaches.

Bentley is situated overlooking the Blindman River valley. Nearby Gull Lake is a popular alternative to nearby Sylvan Lake, with the summer village of Gull Lake located on the eastern shore.

Bentley is located midway between Calgary and Edmonton at the intersection Highway 12 & 20, about 15 minutes west of Lacombe, 20 minutes north of Sylvan Lake, and 30 minutes northwest of Red Deer.

Get around

Bentley and Gull Lake are 5 minute drive from each other and are also connected by a paved walking path.

  • 🌍 Aspen Beach Provincial Park, ☏ +1 403-748-4066, +1 403-748-3939 (Off Season from Sept to April). The first provincial park established in Alberta, the park contains sand beaches on the southern shores of Gull Lake, where the Ebeling Day Use Area offers a large sandy beach, playground, boat launch, and concession. Winter activities include over 8 km of packed and groomed trails for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing as well as a maintained skating rink with lights, fire pits, picnic tables and benches. There are two campgrounds located in the park.
  • Gull Lake is a popular recreation lake with sandy beaches, sport fishing, sailing, power boating, and windsurfing.
  • 🌍 Medicine Lodge Ski Hill (15 km W of Bentley on Hwy 12), ☏ +1 403-748-2025. Just under 500 vertical feet of skiing area, with a total of 14 runs ranging from beginner to advanced.
