Buckden is a small town in North Yorkshire, often regarded as the capital of Upper Wharfedale.

Three roads, two unclassified, connect to Wensleydale.
- The Upper Wharfdale Ventura bus runs between Buckden and Grassington, where there are connections. This is a 16 seat minibus, supported by volunteers.

Do
- Hike. Triangle walk in any order Buckden - Cray - Hubberholme. There can be few short walks more attractive than this.
- Circular hike up Buckden Pike. Go up Buckden Pike, past Polish Airmen's memorial, then down to Starbotton and back to Buckden via the Dales Way footpath along the riverside. This 7 mile route takes 3-5 hours.
