Bungendore
Bungendore is a small town in the Southern Tablelands of New South Wales. It is about 40 minutes from Canberra.

Bungendore is a service town for the local agricultural sector and a dormitory suburb of Canberra and the nearby Headquarters Joint Operations Command (an important Australian Defence Force base which is marked as 'HQJOC' on street signs along the Kings Highway).
The town name is pronounced with a hard 'G', like in bang, and a shortened middle syllable. Bung-n-door.
Get in
Bungendore is located on the Kings Highway (B52), which runs from Canberra to Batemans Bay in Eurobodalla. The town also has a railway station which is serviced two or three times a day by trains in each direction by trains running between Sydney and Canberra via Goulburn. Trip time to Sydney CBD is about three hours by road (travelling via the Federal and Hume Highways) and three and half hours by rail.
