Daren
Daren (Chinese: 達仁鄉, Dárén Xiāng) is a mountain indigenous township in Taitung County, Taiwan.
Understand
The main population is the Paiwan people of the Taiwanese aborigines. In 2012, Daren, along with Wuqiu Township in Kinmen County (Quemoy), was proposed by the Ministry of Economic Affairs as the candidate of the new disposal site of nuclear waste after the Lanyu Storage Site in Orchid Island, Taitung County. This proposal however received heavy objection from the local Wuqiu residents.

- 🌍 Shouqia (壽峠). A low mountain pass in the Central Mountain Range of Hengchun Peninsula between Daren in Taitung and Shizi in Pingtung. The term Qia(Cia) is derived from the Chinese pronunciation of the Japanese word 峠. Shouqia is also spelled as "Shouka" or "Shoucia".
- 🌍 Dawushan Nature Reserve (大武山自然保留區). A large area of nature reserve around Dawu mountain.
