Fulton (California)
Fulton is a small, unincorporated community in Sonoma County in California, just to the north-northwest of Santa Rosa, centered on the intersection of River Road and Fulton Road.
Understand
Fulton was once a thriving small community at a railroad stop. With the ending of rail service, the community has essentially become a suburb of Santa Rosa. But because it is in unincorporated Sonoma County, development essentially ended in the 1980s. (The Sonoma-Marin SMART train does go through Fulton, but does not stop there.)
Get in
Other than by car (or bike), the only way to Fulton is by bus - Sonoma County Transit Route 62; that route runs from Windsor (downtown) to the Sonoma County Airport, through Fulton, and ends at the Santa Rosa Transit Mall.
Get around
Fulton is small and flat - so in theory eminently walkable, but there is not that much to see (or do), and both Fulton Road and River River Road lack sidewalks.
