Grenå

Grenå, also spelled Grenaa, is in East Jutland at the tip of the Djursland peninsula.

By boat

There's a twice-daily car ferry from Halmstad in Sweden.

By train

Grenå is the eastern terminus of Aarhus light rail network, with departures every 30 minutes during the day.

By car

Aarhus, about 50 km west, is on Jutland's main north-south highway, E45. From Sweden you can get in by the ferry mentioned above.

By plane

The closest passenger airport is the one in Aarhus with both international and domestic flights.

  • 🌍 The Kattegat Center (Kattegatcentret), Færgevej 4, +45 86 32 52 00. Public aquarium with over 250 species on display. Adults DKK 160, kids DKK 90.
  • Dansk Motor- og Maskinsamling, Kristiansmindevej 14. The "Danish motor and machinery collection" is a museum of old machinery. The museum has about 450 exhibition pieces, most of which still function.
  • Baunhøj Mølle, Bavnehøjvej 31. A mill that is regarded as a symbol of Grenå. The current mill is a replica, as the original burned down in 2002. Located on a hill, there are good views from here.

Go to the beach. There are great sand beaches in Djursland and all beaches in Denmark are accessible to the public.
