Gulmit
Gulmit is the administrative capital of Upper Hunza (Gojal). The Mir of Hunza had his capital in Gulmit. Climate is pleasant during summer and cool during spring and autumn.

- Tomb of Salim khan III (1790-1824) is found in the old part of the village.

- Walks: Gulmit offers beautiful and spectacular short walks to Kamris, Andhra and Gulkin as well as long walks over the Gulkin glacier to Borith Lake.

- Boating at Borat Lake.
- Legal hunting (Duck/Ibex) at Khunjarab National Park.
- Horse Riding and Polo.
- Local festivals are celebrated seasonally within the village with traditional musicians and dancers
Buy
Gulmit has a simple bazaar with basic amenities.
- 🌍 National Bank and ATM (Next to the Karakorum Highway). It seems foreign bank cards do not work here. Your best bet may be to hitchhike to Aliabad.

Most hotels and guest houses serve food.

- 🌍 Maro Polo Inn, Gulmit Village (by the Karakoram Highway). Check-out: noon.
- 🌍 Gulmit Continental Hotel. 50 metres from the Silk Route, nice Tupopdan peak sunrise views from the rooms. All rooms have separate bathrooms with running hot and cold water 24-7. Rp 800-2000.
- 🌍 Silk Route Lodge (just off the KKH, down by the river.), ☏ +923468115506. Not the prettiest, but has excellent views of the Passu cones and lovely gardens to relax in. Tents can be pitched on the grass.
- Sarai Silk Route Hotel, KKH, Passu Hunza (in Passu village, along the Karakorum highway), info@saraisilkroutehotel.com. Check-in: noon. Sarai Silk Route Hotel is surrounded by snow-capped mountains.
