Isinliví

Isinliví is a small village high up in the Andean mountains of Ecuador. Its one of the towns on the multiple day Quilotoa Loop, a hiking trail popular for its splendid vistas and remote nature.

Get in

Yes, this village is quite remote, but getting in is fairly easy. Most visitors who take the effort to come here are hikers. Some hike all the way here, as part of the Quilotoa Loop or just to enjoy some of the fine scenery surrounding the village.

There are usually 2 daily bus lines from Latacunga to Isinliví. One is operated by Vivero (usually leaving around 1pm, but at 11am on Saturdays), and one operated by 14 de Octubre. If you rent a private vehicle to get to the village, count on at least $50 from Latacunga or $100 from Quito.

If you're coming from Latacunga bus and would like to hike the last part, ask the driver to let you out at the Guingopana Pass, from where it's a scenic 3 hour trek to the village.

See

The one thing to see here, is excellent mountainous landscapes and nature all around.
