Jomotsangkha Wildlife Sanctuary

Jomotsangkha Wildlife Sanctuary (formerly Khaling Wildlife Sanctuary) is in Samdrup Jongkhar district in South-eastern Bhutan.

Understand

This sanctuary covers an area of 335 kmĀ². Its forests range from evergreen subtropical to broadleaf evergreen forests. It reaches altitude of up to 1500 metres.

Climate

From March to May and late-August to November, the weather is best for wildlife viewing.

Flora and fauna

Its birdlife includes the Chestnut-breasted partridge and Rufous-necked hornbill.
