Katihar
Katihar is a city in the north eastern part of the Indian state of Bihar. The city is somewhat close to the Nepalese border and is also the capital of the Katihar district.

National Highway 31 is the principal road connecting Katihar with much of northern and eastern India.

The lake provides a habitat to numerous aquatic flora and fauna as well as 130 birds, of which around 30 are migratory.
