Most mornings (weather permitting) there is a large "morning market" (asa ichi) in the center of the city near the shore. You'll find freshly-caught fish and shellfish, as well as regional specialties and dried snacks - squid, fish, nori, etc. The market is open until about 11:00.
Eat
Katsuura is well known for its tantanmen, a spicy ramen dish. Katsuura tantanmen won first place in the 2015 B-1 Grand Prix food festival.
