Call-a-ride

Call-a-ride is service traffic open to everyone within Kihniö. Order for the ride must be made no later than the previous day by calling the motorist driving the route in question. There is a charge for the ride based on the bus fare. The route to be taken depends on who is coming on board. For more information, e.g. schedules for each route can be obtained from the taxi operator operating it.

🌍 Aitoneva Peat Museum, Aitonevantie 358, (5 km towards Virrat by road 23, 2.5 km along a minor road after a signed turn), ☏ +358 20-790-6403, timo.talasoja@vapo.fi. June–August daily 12:00–17:00, other seasons by appointment. The museum tells the history of peat production. Peat production began in Aitoneva as early as 1943. The Aitoneva Peat Museum provides a comprehensive account of peat production, use, development, history and environmental management. Machine exhibition. 2-km trail to the mire (light shoes suffice in dry weather in the summer; information boards probably in Finnish only), showing also the restoration work, with two lean-to shelters and a birdlife observation tower. In connection with the museum, there is a summer café. Guiding by advance request for the museum and exhibition and the nature trail (separately?). Museum and trail free..
🌍 Kihniö Church. Designed by Ilmari Launis, it was completed in 1916.
