Llanwrtyd Wells (Welsh: Llanwrtyd) is a small town in Brecknockshire.

With a population of less than 800, LW claims to be the smallest community in the UK with the status of a town. It was awarded the Calor Village of the Year title for 2009 on account of its strong community spirit.

- Man versus Horse race: . A race to determine whether men or horses are better at running over mountainous terrain. As of 2021, it has only been won by men twice since it began in 1980. Held in June. (date needs fixing)
