Malinska
Malinska is a little picturesque town on the north-west side of the island of Krk in Croatia. Malinska abounds in vegetation, coves and beaches which are known by the crystally clear adriatic sea. Climatic conditions are ideal; for it is protected from strong winds, especially in winter. Malinska has mild winters and warm summers and that's the reason why it has been visited by numerous guests for over a century.
Understand
Malinska was an old fishing village and port for wood exportation until the beginning of the 20th century, when it started to develop into a tourism destination, initially as a favorite retreat of Viennese nobility. The name Malinska has its origins in the 15th century, and it is related to the water-mill that was built in the village and was important for the whole island of Krk.

By bus
Bus company Arriva Croatia runs sixteen buses daily from Rijeka to Malinska for €7 one way (€7 return). With same buses Malinska is connected with other destionations on island Krk as well as Mali Lošinj and Cres.
On foot
Beautiful seaside path from Njivice to Malinska called "Rajska cesta" is great way to come to Malinska simply by foot. It is one of the most popular walking path on whole island Krk. Walk from Njivice to Malinska is about 6-7 km long and takes around one and half hour. Take enough of water with yourself since there are only forest, rocks and sea on the way.
Get around
Malinska doesn't have any public transport, since city is small enough that you can get everywhere by foot within half an hour of walking.
During the summer months it is possible to rent a bike, scooter or quad bike on Lukobran, place where most of the boats are coming. Price by the hour or by the day. Full price list.
