Naberezhnye Chelny
Naberezhnye Chelny (Russian: На́бережные Челны́ NAH-bee-rezh-nyh-yuh chyel-NYH) is in Tatarstan, on the banks of the River Kama. It is the second largest city in Tatarstan after Kazan, with a population over 500,000. Naberezhnye Chelny is almost exclusively a single-industry town, centered on the Kama Automobile Plant, which produces KAMAZ trucks.

- 🌍 Ascension Cathedral (Вознесенский собор, Voznesensky Sobor), пр Чулман, 127. A rather ordinary brick church, this is one of the few pre-revolutionary buildings preserved in Chelny. The cathedral was built in 1872. During Soviet times, it fell into a state of ruins, from which it was restored 1989-90.
