See

  • ๐ŸŒ NaJeringa Wall (on the Gambaga-Nalerigu road, behind the Green Light Guest house). Built in the mid-1700s by a legendary Mamprusi king called Naa Jeringa to defend the capital of Nalerigu, the ruins of this wall still stand.
  • ๐ŸŒ NaYiri Palace (southeast of the bus station, in the centre of Nalerigu). It is the traditional seat of the overlord of Mamprugu which also serves as the center of cultural activities in the region. As anybody can see the palace on the outside, a person does not simply walk in. It is against the law to cross in front of the palace on bicycles and motorcycles (to do so will incur a fine). To visit the Overlord, you must first locate a local representative (usually a chief or court elder) who will arrange for a visit to the king and accompany you in. A gift or "kola" for the chief is expected as well as for your guide.
  • ๐ŸŒ ลŠmana Feoo Dovesโ€™ Cave & Boulders (3-km hike east-by-southeast of Nalerigu; move straight the road on the north side of the Baptist Medical Centre down to the creek; cross the creek and walk up to the ridge and head 100 m southwards till you get there). A short hike from Nalerigu, this group of rock outcrops is ideal for bouldering and exploring housing lots of birds and flowers.
