Narrandera is a town in the Riverina region of New South Wales

Narrandera is described on the signs entering town as a "Town of Trees", which becomes evident why as you drive around town.

Immediately south of Narrandera on the other side of the Murrumbidgee River is Gillenbah, where the Sturt and Newell highways intersect, making it a popular stop for trucks and travellers. There are two service stations and a motor inn at this area.

Narrandera is situated on two major highways, and at the start of another rural highway:

  • Newell Highway: 108 km north of Jerilderie, and 22km south-west of Grong Grong
  • Sturt Highway: 98 km west of Wagga Wagga, and 61km of Darlington Point
  • Irrigation Way: 30 km south of Leeton

By train/bus

  • NSW Trainlink Narrandera sees a single passenger train service a week. It heads to Narrandera on the way to Griffith from Sydney on Saturdays, and returns on Sundays. If gives you the option of a few hours in town on Saturday night. More useful are the coach services that run each day from Nerrandera to meet the Sydney to Melbourne XPT for a combined train/coach trip.
