Opi
Opi is a medieval village of 420 people (2015) in Abruzzo in the protected area of the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park. It is part of the "Most Beautiful Villages in Italy". Opi is a well-known tourist centre, 7 km from the Macchiarvana cross-country ski trails.

Lovers of winter sports, especially cross-country skiing, frequent the medieval village especially in winter. Here in winter the snow always falls abundantly. Opi is a tourist destination at other times of the year thanks to the numerous cultural initiatives, the natural and architectural beauty, and the numerous cycle and pedestrian paths it offers. By car
Opi can be reached from the Marsica fucense (Pescina exit of the A25 motorway) and from the lower Sangro through the Marsicana state road 83 which crosses the Abruzzo National Park. Secondary accesses come from Cocullo (exit of the A25 motorway) through the Sannite state road 479 passing through the Valle del Sagittario and Scanno -Passo Godi, and from the Lazio region through the Forca d'Acero pass and the State Road 509.

Buses from Avezzano are managed by TUA bus lines.

They are considered among the most important old forests in the Northern Hemisphere. Recognized in 2017 as a UNESCO World Heritage Site with plants over 500 years old, it is populated by protected animals such as the Marsican brown bear, the Apennine wolf, the chamois.
