Just off the Bohuslän coast, Orust is Sweden's fourth largest island. Only Gotland and Öland are larger, as well as Södertörn, which appears as a peninsula more than an island. Orust Municipality, Orusts kommun, also contains some minor islands.

By car
The islands Orust and Tjörn are connected to the mainland by two bridges, one in the north and one in the south, and there is also a bridge between the islands. Road 160 uses these bridges. The bridge in south is particularly remarkable, and there are rest areas nearby that are all recommended to visit.
