Panipat

Panipat is a city in the state of Haryana in the Plains region of India. An industrial city in modern times, its main claim to fame is that the First Battle of Panipat in 1526 was a key step in establishing the Mughal Empire.

Panipat is small but enjoyable city, you can get into many malls as present in the city, museums, and hotels.

By train

  • 🌍 Panipat Junction railway station. The station is on the Delhi-Kalka line which connects India's capital with the state of Haryana.

  • Dargah Qalander.
  • 🌍 Gandhi Park Killa.
  • 🌍 Kala Amb (Black Mango). The site of the Third Battle of Panipat between the Marathas and Afghans was according to legend, marked by a black mango tree which has since disappeared.
  • 🌍 Kabuli Bagh. A mosque and garden built by first Mughal emperor Babur to commemorate his victory over Ibrahim Lodi.
  • Panipat Museum.

  • 🌍 Shri Devi Temple (Mandir Shri Mahavir Sabha).
  • 🌍 Tomb of Ibrahim Lodi, Tehsil Camp Rd. The last ruler of the Lodi dynasty, Ibrahim Lodi's tomb is quite a simple looking rectangular tomb with a small flight of steps.
  • 🌍 Hemu's Samadhi Sthal. A memorial to 16th century King Hemu, who defeated the Mughals in October 1556 and briefly took control of Delhi before being defeated in a repeat battle around a month later.
