Pauanui

Pauanui is an upmarket holiday resort town on the Coromandel Peninsula in the Waikato on the North Island of New Zealand. Significant attractions include the white sandy beach beside the Pacific Ocean, harbour and forest covered hills and a canal housing development.

Get in

Drive or catch the Tairua/Pauanui ferry which operates every hour in summer. The Tairua Harbour is a safe harbour for yachts. Private air charters are available.

The coastal area and the bush and river terrain behind that are a good base for all kinds of outdoor activities. Swimming, surfing, kayaking, sailing, fishing, diving, hiking and biking: there's plenty of opportunities to choose from. If that's not for you however, join the rest of the relaxing crowd and go sunbathing on the pretty beach.
