By bus

There are a couple of buses from Joensuu every day.

By car

Polvijärvi town is at a crossroads of regional roads 502 and 504. From highway 9 (coming from Joensuu), regional road 502 comes in, and from Outokumpu (highway 9 from Kuopio) road 504. From the north, road 504 comes in from Ahmovaara at highway 6, and 502 in the other direction from Kaavi.
