Saint-Mathieu-de-Beloeil

Saint-Mathieu-de-Belœil is a modern municipality, with agriculture, aviation, industry and recreational tourism, in the regional county municipality (MRC) of La Vallée-du-Richelieu, in Montérégie, in Quebec, Canada.

  • From Montréal (37 km, time: 0 hr 31 min. Take the Jacques-Cartier bridge (south); take route 132 (eastbound); take Highway 20 (east) to the Saint-Jean-Baptiste Street exit; go northwest to the village of Saint-Mathieu-de-Beloeil.
  • From Quebec (222 km, time: 2 hr 15 min). Take Highway 20 (westbound) to the Saint-Jean-Baptiste Street exit in Saint-Marc-sur-Richelieu (near the Saint-Mathieu-de-Beloeil airfield); go northeast on rue Saint-Jean-Baptiste to Saint-Mathieu-de-Beloeil.

By plane

The municipality of Saint-Mathieu-de-Beloeil owns the airfield infrastructure. However, this aerodrome is administered by the Saint-Mathieu-de-Beloeil Airport Corporation. The toponymic designation of this aerodrome evokes the merit of the late Gilles Beaudet, mayor of the municipality of Saint-Mathieu-de-Beloeil, from 1997 to 2005. This change of designation was formalized on June 10, 2021 at the Commission de toponymique du Québec.

This aerodrome offers a paved runway open year-round. This airport area offers parking, storage, maintenance and repairs of aircraft. Several aviation businesses are located there. Some aviation companies offer aircraft rentals, air charters and guided tours. In addition, several enthusiasts come to follow their pilot training at one of the training centres established at this airport.
