Sant Pol de Mar

Sant Pol de Mar is a municipality of 5,200 people (2018) in the comarca of Maresme in Catalonia.

Sant Pol de Mar is a great little town that everyone should visit when going to Barcelona. It is about an hour north of downtown Barcelona by way of the R1 line on the train heading towards Blanes.

The nearest airports are Barcelona El Prat Airport BCN IATA 64 km (40 mi) and Girona Costa Brava GRO IATA 44 km (27 mi)

By train

Served by Rodalies-RENFE Rodalies-Renfe trains  R1  line connects to Barcelona where you can change train to go to airport. It also goes to Maçanet-Massanes where you can change train to Girona (and connect to the Girona airport)

By car

  • The  C32  Motorway goes from Barcelona to Palafolls
  • The  N-2  goes parallel to C-32 but along the coast, crossing all villages

Do

Sant Pol De Mar has amazing beaches. The small pebble beach is one of the best on the Costa Brava in Spain. There are over 3 km of regular beaches which are book-ended by some nice nude beaches. There are nude beaches for anyone and there are more family oriented nude beaches at each far end.

Road Cycling

You can train along the coast in the N-II road between El Masnou and Santa Susanna. Or try the road from Arenys to Port of Collsacreu to Sant Celoni .

In Sant Pol starts the bv-5128 and then the BV-5031 until Mataro. This route is a favorite among locals. They call it "el pollastre" (the chicken).

Mountain Bike

Head up to the Parc del Montnegre i el Corredor , for trails along the forests.

Eat

There are many excellent restaurants in this town.
