Savage is located along the Paxuent River between I-95 and Route 1. MARC operates trains from Union station in Washington, D.C.

  • 🌍 Bollman Truss Railroad Bridge, Foundry St at Patuxent River. A 160-foot (48-m) double-span suspension truss bridge, built in 1852 and moved to this site in 1882. It is one of the oldest standing iron railroad bridges in the United States.
  • 🌍 Carroll Baldwin Hall, 9035 Baltimore St, +1 410-294 3561. A Richardsonian Romanesque-style building built 1921–1922 in honor of the life of Carroll Baldwin, Savage Mill's well-known supervisor who died in 1918. It is a two-story structure with stone from the nearby Little Patuxent River on the exterior. The building was built for the use of the entire community, and it continues to function as a community center today.
  • 🌍 Commodore Joshua Barney House, 7912 Savage Guilford Rd, Jessup. An original 2½-story brick house built around 1760 with two additions built in 1941 and 1946. The original part of the building has three bays on each facade, a hip roof, and a central chimney. Although it was probably built by the Ridgely family, its more famous resident was Commodore Joshua Barney. Commodore Barney led forces in the Revolutionary War, was captured three times,and escaped twice. Commodore Barney also led forces in the Battle of Bladensburg during the War of 1812.

At 2nd light take a right on Gorman Rd. Take right at Foundry St. Take 2nd left on Baltimore St., 2nd left at Fair St and enter parking lot on right), +1 301-725-1313. 9AM-6PM. Featuring zip lines, a climbing tower, obstacle course, and a giant swing, Terrapin Adventures offers guests an unforgettable outdoor adventure and team building experience! This is definitely not an attraction for those afraid of heights, but avid thrill seekers will be in the zone.
  • 🌍 Patuxent Branch Trail, 9190 Old Guilford Rd, Columbia, +1 410-313 4700. Sunrise-sunset. A 4.6-mile (7.5-km) mostly paved trail that follows the Patuxent River from Savage Park to Lake Elkhorn. The trail has interpretive signs and crosses the historic Guilford Pratt Truss Bridge. Good for walking or biking.
