Shell Knob

Shell Knob is a small town in the Southwest Missouri Ozarks and a lake resort community. It is located near the western edge of Tablerock Lake. Shell Knob is quiet small town, which sees a spike in activity during the summer holiday (Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day) as the out of town lake visitors pour into town.

Get in

Highway 39 runs North / South through Shell Knob. Located approx. 10 miles North of the Missouri / Arkansas border. Shell Knob sits on the western end of Tablerock Lake.

There is a small airport which will accommodate small airplanes.

Get around

By car, no public transportion.

See

There are some beautiful back roads to drive on, some nice views of the lake.

  • Tablerock Lake is a man made lake located on White River. Activities include boating, fishing, scuba diving, camping, hiking and hunting. The lake is a destination location in Missouri and one of the bass fishing locations in the country.

Do

  • Fishing, Swimming, Jet Ski etc. on the lake

Buy

There are a few small local shops that carry antiques / crafts.

  • Sawtooth Mill.
  • The Old Church Shop.

Eat

  • The Steak Inn, A favorite place for dinner located about a half mile south of the bridge. Excellent Steaks, reasonable price.
  • The Smokehouse BarBQ, is a good place for lunch or dinner.
  • Carole's, Breakfast will find most folks at Carole's (only open for breakfast / early lunch)- in town in the strip mall on HWY 39.
