Stadecken-Elsheim is reasonable sized village in Rhenish Hesse in the state Rhineland-Palatinate of Germany.

Set in the valley of the river Selz, surrounded by vineyards.

Between Ingelheim and Nieder-Olm (A63 exit 4) on the L428/L416 or the L426 from Mainz and A60 exit 20.

ORN buses available from Ingleheim, Nieder-Olm and Mainz.

Get around

See

Although there are remains to the castle in Stadecken they are very difficult to see as more recent houses are build into the original walls and access is private.

  • Trullo (On the hill in the vines above Elsheim). Round building, built earlier 1900s influence by the Apulian dry stone huts.
  • Elftausend Mägde Mühle. Remains of 15th century customs tower and bridge

With over 30 "Winzer" in the village, plenty of opportunity to buy some good wine.
