Sweet Grass

Sweet Grass (also Sweetgrass) is a town in Montana. It is on the United States - Canada border. Only 65 people lived there in 2020.

Sweet Grass is located on the Montana side of the Sweetgrass–Coutts Border Crossing, which connects it with Coutts, Alberta. It is the busiest port of entry in both the state of Montana and the province of Alberta. This crossing is open 24/7.

The majority of businesses are in Coutts.

Sweet Grass is where Interstate 15 meets Alberta Highway 4. Interstate 15 is an important route connecting western Canada, the western United States, and Mexico.

  • 🌍 Coutts/Ross International Airport (FAA LID: 7S8). Airport is available for general aviation, no scheduled commercial flights and a turf runway, located along the US-Canada border. Owned by the State of Montana, it is a port of entry into Canada with no more than 15 passengers. (updated Apr 2019)

There is little in terms of accommodations in Sweet Grass. It is best to either stay in Shelby, Great Falls, or Lethbridge.
