Tamana (玉名) is a city in the northern part of Kumamoto prefecture.

The local tourist association has a mostly Japanese-only guide site covering the northern half of the prefecture. Kikuchi River Valley section is multilingual.

- Oama Hot Spring (小天温泉). Visited by, among others, famed novelist Natsume Soseki.
Eat
Kumamoto ramen in the tonkotsu (pork bone broth) style is very popular in Tamana, and may originate from here. The city has more than 10 tonkotsu ramen shops, with queues in front of the best ones.
