Tolyatti

Tolyatti ( Тольятти) is a city in Samara Oblast in Russia.

Tolyatti was named after Palmiro Togliatti, an Italian communist. It is the headquarters of Lada, a major Russian automobile manufacturer. The population is approximately 720,000, of which 110,000 are employed by Lada. In the 1950s, when the population was 12,000, the entire city was moved to its present location to allow for construction of the Zhiguli Hydroelectric Station.

Togliatti was the location of the Speedway of Nations in 2019. Motorcycle riders from Russia, Australia, Denmark, Great Britain, Sweden, and Germany contested.

Kurumoch International Airport, (KUF IATA) is 55 kilometers east of the city and is the closest airport to Tolyatti. Bus 652 (160 руб, 60-80 minutes) operates between the airport and the city. Direct flights are available to/from Russian cities including Moscow and Ufa as well as international cities including Osh.

By train

Timetables and fares can be searched for on the RZD website. Search for "Toliatti".

Train 066Й operates daily from Moscow Kazansky vokzal, departing Moscow daily around 5PM, arriving in Tolyatti between 10AM and 11AM the next morning. The 17 hour trip costs from 1700 руб.
