Villa Tunari
Villa Tunari is a village in the Cochabamba Department of Bolivia.
Understand
Villa Tunari is very much off the Gringo Trail but is growing in popularity due its pleasant tropical climate and proximity to multiple wildlife parks. There is little to do in the village itself, but it serves as a base for adventure tourism. It's also a great spot to simply relax – you're in the middle of nowhere.
Get in
Buses run from Cochabamba and take about 4 hours.
Get around
Walk. The village is tiny.

- Visit the nearby parks:
- Parque Lena Verde – A jungle wildlife park notable for its unique flora
- Carrasco National Park – One of Bolivia's most biologically-diverse national parks
- Parque Machía – A wildlife sanctuary for rescued animals. Home to over 20 different species.
- Whitewater rafting/kayaking
- Bungee jumping
Eat
Being in the jungle, fruit in Villa Tunari is fresh and exotic. Fish is abundant, fresh and delicious.
