Villarreal (Valencian: Vila-real) is a city of 51,000 people (2018) in Castellón province in Spain. It is home of the famous Villarreal CF football club. It is a place to enjoy nature, with many hiking possibilities in the Protected Landscape of the Millars Mouth.

Renfe runs frequent trains from Castellón, with a travel time of just 5 minutes. Facilities at the station include a café, bookshop, and car rental office.

  • 🌍 Museu de la Ciutat (Museo de la Ciudad / Casa de Polo / City Museum), Carrer Joan Fuster, 33, +34 964 547 222, . Sep-Jun: Tu-Sa 10:00-13:00 17:00-20:00, Su 10:00-13:00; Jul Aug: Tu-F 10:00-13:00. The 19th-century farmhouse now houses a museum, with displays dedicated to the Villareal musicians and artists, and also hosts temporary art exhibits.
  • Termet de la Mare de Déu de Gràcia. The Termet houses a hermitage with a baroque flavour dedicated to the Virgen de Gracia, the patron saint, together with San Pascual Baylón, of Vila-real. Its basilica and the royal chapel, the work of the local sculptor Vicente Llorens Poy, is one of the city's heritage jewels.

  • Football: Villareal CF play soccer in La Liga, Spain's top tier. Their home ground Estadio de la Cerámica (capacity 23,500) is just north of city centre. The women's team play in Liga F (their top tier) at the training ground west edge of the city.
