The West Somerset Railway is a heritage railway route that leads from Minehead to Bishops Lydeard in Somerset (England).
Prepare
There are both steam and diesel heritage routes. The price of the tickets depends on the season. In summertime, the peak time, the fares are higher and will cost more depending on the price of coal or diesel.
Get in
- By train, get to Taunton on the main line, then get to one of the stops mentioned below either by bus or taxi.
- By train, as during the summer on limited days a handful of direct services are run between Taunton and the line’s terminus in Bishops Lydeard.
- By motorway, follow the junction for either Taunton or Minehead on the M5, look for the heritage railway brown tourist signs.
