Winter sports in Kosovo
Kosovo has a mountainous relief suitable for winter sports activities.
Key skiing destinations are Brezovica and Brod in the Sharr Mountains in the South and Bogë in Rugova in the north.
In addition to skiing, snow showing is possible.

History
Having stunning winter scenery, skiing in Kosovo has developed since the 70's starting at Brezovica. Other destinations have opened post '00.
Kosovo offers diverse winter activities for outdoor enthusiasts which include skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing and freeriding. Three ski centers, namely Brezovica, Brod, and Boge, cater to different skill levels. Brezovica boasts excellent snow quality and slopes, while Brod and Boge are ideal for beginners. Snowshoeing allows you to explore frost-covered landscapes and enjoy traditional food in remote mountain villages. Winter activities are available from December to March, depending on weather conditions.
When to go
Snow in Kosovo falls from December to March. The best months are January and February.
How to go
Public transport to the skiing destinations is not available. Access is best from nearby towns, Prizren and Ferizaj for Sharr and Peja for Bogë.

Destinations can be reached through Prishtina, Skopje and Kukës International Airports

Brezovica is most demanding, offering off-piste and extreme sports, while other destinations are more amenable to beginners.
