Gembloux
Gembloux is a town in Wallonia, the French-speaking southern part of Belgium. Gembloux is located in the north of the province Namur. The town is inhabited by about 26,000 inhabitants (2018). Most of the town consists of fairly new residential buildings, however a small but picturesque centre is still preserved.

By train
Gembloux is located on the major railway line connecting Brussels and Namur. Timetables can be found here: SNCB, the national railway company, for national and international travels. The 🌍 Gembloux Railway station. is fairly close to the city centre, only some 10 minutes in walking distance.

Get around
By public transport
The public transport network is operated by the Walloon bus company TEC. Tickets can be purchased from kiosks, or directly from bus drivers where they are only marginally more expensive. Do not expect bus drivers to converse fluently in English, so having your destination written out on a piece of paper may help to avoid confusion.

- 🌍 Belfry, La Ruelle Thirion. The historical 35-m-high belfry of Gembloux is located on a rocky outcrop on the edge of the Orneau and in the center of the town. It is in fact the bell tower of the old Saint-Sauveur church, enhanced and fitted out to serve new communal functions. The bell tower officially became a belfry at the beginning of the 19th century. Since 2005 it has been classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of the Belfries of Belgium and France.

- 🌍 Castle of Corroy-le-Château, Corroy-le-Château. Located in a village 5 km away from the town centre of Gembloux.
- 🌍 Saint Lambert Church, Rue des Marronniers de Corroy, Corroy-le-Château. A Romanesque ensemble that can be traced back to the beginning of the 13th century. The completion of the church dates from the 18th century. It contains some beautiful wooden statues, including an impressive 17th-century Christ and the much later effigy of Notre-Dame de Corroy.
