By car

On the, often congested, intersection of two of Wales' most important trunk roads the A470, 13 miles north of Builth Wells and 30 miles east of Aberystwyth on the A44.

By public transit

Closest rail station is Pen-y-Bont but there are numerous bus services from Builth Wells, Llandrindod Wells, Aberystwyth and Newtown

Get around

The town is very small and walking is the easiest way around. For surrounding areas, driving or taking a taxi might be advisable as public transport connections are poor.

Is a popular hiking and horse riding area.

  • B4574 mountain road. Between Aberystwyth and Rhayader via Devil's Bridge is a great scenic drive.
  • 🌍 Willow Globe Theatre. Shakespeare's plays performed in a theatre formed from living willow trees woven together.

Go for a bike ride - the town is located on the scenic national cycle routes 8 and 81.
