Understand

Seillans is a small village in the Var region of Provence, in the south of France. It is mostly popular during the long, summer months, which mean that the most popular time of year for visitors is between May and September, where temperatures are high and the days are long. Seillans is one of the so-called 'perched villages' of Provence which are named this way because of their location at the top of hills. Seillans was home to Max Ernst, a German painter who fell in love with the region and the town. Another perched village, Montauroux can be seen across the valley from Seillans.
