Chinatown

There are Chinatowns in cities around the world. See Wikipedia for an extensive list; here we list only the ones Wikivoyage has an article for.

See Legacy of the Overseas Chinese for a more general treatment, including links to many of the places the Chinese immigrants came from.

In Chinese most of these are called Tangren jie (Tang people street).

  • 🌍 Tiretta Bazaar (Old China Market), Kolkata — the original Chinatown of Kolkata. The locality was once home to 20,000 ethnic Chinese Indian nationals, but most of the ethnic Chinese have since moved to Tangra.
